It’s our Last Weekend

This coming weekend is the last for our Artists Open House, Brighton so it would be great if you could make it along. We have so much going on it will definitely be worth your while ! There’ll be more that just oil paintings by Karen Irvine, Textile Landscapes by Jenni Cresswell, Wood Prints by Keith Pettit, Jewellery by Silversea and Elizabeth Anne Norris and Felt, Button and Steampunk Accessories by Betty Shek.

Enamelling Demonstration

Come and see how enamelling is done this Saturday and Sunday only ! I’ll be showing you a couple of different enamelling techniques including ‘wet packing’ and ‘sifting’. I’ll have the kiln all fired up and you can watch me at work. If you’re luck you can take away a sample of my enamel work too.

Kiln – It’s almost 800 degrees C in there !

Sketch to Press Challenge

Kids love having a go on Keith’s printing press

This Saturday you can see Keith Pettit demonstrating his art, wood engraving and have a go on his printing press. Keith has set himself a ”sketch to press challenge” and will try to complete a wood engraving in one day. If you mention “sketch to press challenge” when you visit our Artists Open House you’ll get a free print from the engraving.

Artists Open House Exhibition

I’m currently exhibiting my handmade silver and enamel jewellery at Betty and Friends Artists Open House in Brighton. Our artists open house is part of the Beyond the Level Art Trail which is one of the trails that makes up the Artists Open House network.

Every weekend in May over 100 houses transform into gallery spaces which are open to the public. You can see art, sculpture, textiles, jewellery, ceramics, photography etc, meet the artists, see art demonstrations, take part in workshops and win goodies too (more about that in a minute!)

Rings… Make It Personal !

Pictured below are 5 of my handmade silver ring designs. Each ring is sterling silver,  handmade to order and can be made into an individual piece of jewellery by adding your choice of inscription on the inside. You can personalise your silver ring by Elizabeth Anne Norris by adding a Name, Date, Personal Moto or Private Message on the inside.

These handmade silver rings are handforged and finished at my jewellery workshop in Brighton. Because each silver ring is handmade I do not mass produce them so they are a perfect and unique  gift for a loved one, for birthday, anniversary or even for wedding rings. Etsy Tips and Tricks for UK Sellers

Ok, I have to start by saying that I’m not an expert on Etsy, however, I have learnt a few Etsy tips and tricks over the last two years. Many of these have come from my Brighton Etsy Team Mates so, Thank you ! What I have learnt is that there is a lot to learn about Etsy and it takes time and effort to learn it, keep up to date and put your knowledge into action !

Get tips on improving your shop with Shoptimizer

Mass Edit Listings with Craftopolis (title,  description, price, quantity)

7. Try Search Ads

Promote individual items or your whole shop using Etsy Search Ads. You can start and stop search ads anytime so it’s worth a try.

8. Use Social Media

Use Social media to promote your work and what you are up to.  Make it interesting. Learn about Hashtags.  I use Facebook, Hootsuite (for tweeting), Stumbledupon, Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr and Flickr.

9. Write a Blog
