Today is Small Business Saturday in the UK so I’m doing my little bit to promote the fantastic individuals I know who run their own small businesses.
My suggestions for 2 places to go Christmas shopping today and support Small Business Saturday are:
- Mews Art Studios Christmas Artists Open House, 1 Chapel Mews, Hove BN3 1AR
- Brighton Etsy Team Pop Up Shop, 16 Brighton Square, Brighton BN1 1HD
Mews Art Studio
From 12-6pm today (and tomorrow) you can visit Mews Art Studio, a working artists studio, where you will find work from 14 individual artists. If you’re lucky enough you can meet the makers and talk to them about their work too which is an important difference when buying from a small business.
You can click on the images below to find out more info about each artist.

Brighton Etsy Pop Up Shop
A team of talented Etsy sellers have put together a pop up shop in Brighton’s South Lanes. It’s only open for 2 more days so today, Small Business Saturday is a rare and final opportunity to support local makers and artists in Brighton. The pop up shop features 25 wonderful makers from jewellers, to print makers, to crafters, to seamstresses and everything in between. There will be something for everyone, and all budgets- so it will be a great place to pick up one off gifts and stocking fillers for Christmas.
Here’s a pick of my favourite items available in the Brighton Etsy Pop Up Shop. You can click on the images below to find out more info about each product.
