Japan Inspired Wall Panels at Blossoming Together Gallery

Today I am off to London and I’m very happy because I’m taking my Japan Inspired Enamel Wall Panels to a wonderful gallery cafe in Deptford.

Blossoming Together Arts and Crafts Cafe is a beautiful homely cafe and gallery serving organic home cooked food and displaying gorgeous handmade crafts from selected artists. They also run arts and crafts workshops for both adults and children on the premises. What a delight that I’ve been selected to show my work here.

I am looking forward to, not only meeting Cinzia Callegari, hanging my enamel wall panels but trying her organic home-baked bread with homemade jam made from fruits on her allotment. My mouth is watering already.

The inspiration for my enamel wall panels stems from my travels around Japan. I found it a truly fascinating country and loved it very much. My enamel panels depict selected elements I photographed then captured in enamels. These elements are paper temple lanterns, name stamps or ‘Hanko’ and Japanese maple trees. The method of enamelling used to create these images is a sifting technique. The ground glass enamels are sprinkled through mesh screens called ‘Riso’ screens that have the images on them. Below you can see the panels I will be exhibiting in the gallery from today.

You can find my Japan Inspired Wall Panels at Blossoming Together Arts and Crafts Cafe, 4 Tanner’s Hill, London SE8 4PJ from today. There are 7 panels in total and these are LIMITED EDITIONS so once they are gone, they are gone! If you live in London it is definitely worth you visiting this cafe for a cup of tea and a browse.
