Gem of the Day – Heather Wang

Heather Wang

Today’s Gem of the day is this sweet purple olive green blooming branch necklace by Heather Wang.  Heather, who started her business in 2007 has enamelled silver flowers that sit on a cast silver branch to form this beautiful necklace.
In Heather’s own words: “I knew that I wanted to be a jeweler when I was 14 years old. I was lucky enough to attend a high school that had an “art metals” class, and I haven’t looked back since. “”I received my BFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing from Rhode Island School of Design in 2002. Afterwards I went straight to graduate school, at the Royal College of Art in London, England. I left the RCA with a MA (equivalent to a U.S. MFA) in Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork and Jewellery in 2004. ”

Like me Heather loves the colours of  enamels and she also uses a mix of traditional silversmithing and jewellery techniques.  She is obviously a very talented designer and I like her work very much.
