Gem of the day – Julie Prunier-Vecchio

Julie Prunier-Vecchio, a French artist now living in Jersey city, graduated from the “Ecole Boulle” in Paris and specialized in hand ornamental engraving, was the apprentice of the jewellery creator Michael Van (Chambery, France), then she worked in the most-well know workshop in Geneva (Switzerland).

The Curly Pod ring (above) is sterling silver and enamel. Cast from a real curly pod, the kind of bean that grows in East Asia, the bean’s pod curls wind around your finger. I was drawn to Julie’s designs by the unusual organic shapes and subtle enamel colours. Stunning !

  1. I am a big fan of Julie’s work too. I had her custom design a water-themed ring and she came up with five amazing designs. It was so hard to choose a favorite!
