A Win! Win! Win! Situation

Artists Open House Exhibition

Black Diamond Pendant

I’m currently exhibiting my handmade silver and enamel jewellery at Betty and Friends Artists Open House in Brighton. Our artists open house is part of the Beyond the Level Art Trail which is one of the trails that makes up the Artists Open House network.

Every weekend in May over 100 houses transform into gallery spaces which are open to the public. You can see art, sculpture, textiles, jewellery, ceramics, photography etc, meet the artists, see art demonstrations, take part in workshops and win goodies too (more about that in a minute!)

Rings… Make It Personal !

Pictured below are 5 of my handmade silver ring designs. Each ring is sterling silver,  handmade to order and can be made into an individual piece of jewellery by adding your choice of inscription on the inside. You can personalise your silver ring by Elizabeth Anne Norris by adding a Name, Date, Personal Moto or Private Message on the inside.

These handmade silver rings are handforged and finished at my jewellery workshop in Brighton. Because each silver ring is handmade I do not mass produce them so they are a perfect and unique  gift for a loved one, for birthday, anniversary or even for wedding rings. I’m happy to discuss any ideas you have so get in touch info@eanjewellery.com.

Elizabeth Anne Norris Now Stocking Jewellers in Lewes

Elizabeth Anne Norris handmade enamel jewellery can now be found in Jonathan Swan’s jewellery shop, The Workshop, in the historic town of Lewes, East Sussex. Not only is The Workshop the first stockist of my unique handmade jewellery but it is the only enamel jewellery in the gallery collection.

Jonathan Swan-003

Jonathan Swan’s establishment, The Workshop, is located in the shadow of Lewes Castle and has a long and interesting history. The original building dates back to 800 – 900 AD (Alfred the Great came to the throne in 856 AD, before written English history). The Workshop is 300 years older than the Norman Castle next door.  The small alley dividing the workshop from next door was originally the main road into Lewes. Pottery excavated from inside the building has been dated 12th century. In recent history The Workshop had been occupied by London and Provincial Butchers, a plumber’s merchant and a charity shop. When Jonathan Swan acquired The Workshop, in 1981, it was in need of much restoration.

Jonathan Swan-004

Jonathan had totally transformed the place into 4 functional spaces. At the front is the shop on the high street which houses a handpicked range of daring and different handmade contemporary jewellery by selected UK jewellery designers. Behind are 3 rooms, converted into jewellery workshop space. Upstairs, Jonathan’s jeweller’s bench is made from Rock Maple that used to belong to Winston Churchill. (The tree originally stood on the grounds of his house at Chartwell but was blown down in the 1987 gale). The downstairs back workshop has an upwards view of the Castle, and nine bench spaces made from old telegraph poles. The downstairs front workshop is the oldest part, and is now full of exciting jewellery equipment.

If you’d like to visit The Workshop, to browse the handmade designer jewellery or to take a jewellery course, all the information you need is below. I can also highly recommend a day trip to Lewes. If not then click here to take a look at the wonderful workshop photos

Gem of The Day – Patsy Oxley

Patsy Oxley Butterfly earrings

Patsy Oxley is an artist turned enamel artist and has made jewellery her new artform. She draws inspiration from the semi-arid environment of Colorado Springs where she lives. Her colourful copper and enamel jewellery makes ‘the common uncommon‘ and her brass clay jewelry pieces are quite fantastic. Patsy writes about her inspiration and art in her blog here

I have chosen Patsy’s Enamel dangle butterfly earrings for my ‘Gem of the Day’ as they caught my eye with the vibrant orange and yellow enamels while the attention to detail in the Monarch butterfly wings is amazing. These are definitely statement earrings and are sure to catch everyone’s attention. Beautiful work.

Click here to see Patsy’s Online Shop OxArtJewelry. What do you think of Patsy’s enamel work? Please leave your comment below. Many thanks.
