Ok, I have to start by saying that I’m not an expert on Etsy, however, I have learnt a few Etsy tips and tricks over the last two years. Many of these have come from my Brighton Etsy Team Mates so, Thank you ! What I have learnt is that there is a lot to learn about Etsy and it takes time and effort to learn it, keep up to date and put your knowledge into action !

Join a team or two and take part in their forums. I have found Etsy Success and UK Ireland Teams to be very good especially if you sign up to their newsletters. Try Brighton Based Sellers , Etsy Success, Etsys Uk Ireland Seller Support Team

4. Read the Etsy Blog
5. Use Etsy Tools
Get tips on improving your shop with Shoptimizer
Mass Edit Listings with Craftopolis (title, description, price, quantity)
Tag Tools with Etsyonsale (edit your tags en mass)
7. Try Search Ads
Promote individual items or your whole shop using Etsy Search Ads. You can start and stop search ads anytime so it’s worth a try.
8. Use Social Media
Use Social media to promote your work and what you are up to. Make it interesting. Learn about Hashtags. I use Facebook, Hootsuite (for tweeting), Stumbledupon, Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr and Flickr.

9. Write a Blog
Take time to research and write an interesting blog. I have had many enquiries about commissions through my blog. Use good SEO and include lots of links. I use WordPress.

The renewing tip is totally out of date – you are advising people to spend (waste) money doing something that no longer applies and has not applied for quite a long time. I hope they read this and ignore that “tip”

Just to clarify – renewing items does not take you to the top of search and has not done so for quite a long time.
